Every painting is a journey and surprise for me as much as the viewer.  I start with fragments, a form that intrigues me.  I respond as I search for meaning as I try to figure each painting out.  Once the idea is used to get me started, then the act of painting takes over.  The realisation of my process deepens and expands while painting as I search for balance.  The viewer rushes to complete the visual information and hunts for narrative references using past visual experience and associations.  The success of the painting lies in what you find yourself thinking about, during the experience.  A conclusion about the subject matter that you can reason with and put into words is out of reach.
